We love seafood. We love Rhode Island. We love museums.
We really love each other, so we’re getting married.
We love you too, so we'd like you to be there.
Please join us to celebrate our wedding with a traditional New England clambake at the Herreshoff Marine Museum in historic Bristol, Rhode Island.
The ceremony will take place at 5:30pm on the Herreshoff dock overlooking Bristol Harbor, with a cocktail reception to follow. Buffet-style dinner and dance party will take place under the Herreshoff’s beautiful waterfront tent. After the party is the after-party... in Providence, location TBD.
Free parking is available at the Herreshoff. We encourage local folks to carpool or (even better) to share an Uber/Lyft. Please drive safe and plan accordingly!
If you’re super cool, you can even dock your boat at the Herreshoff Museum. Let us know if you’re interested and we’ll put you in touch with the museum staff.
We are staying at The Dean hotel in downtown Providence, a gorgeous 52-room boutique hotel that was formerly a “gentlemen’s inn” (no joke). This is one of our favorite spots and we highly recommend it. Besides the beautiful accommodations, there is also a German beer hall, cocktail lounge, coffee shop, and an upscale karaoke bar on the ground floor. You can’t go wrong! It books fast though, so reserve a room here quickly.
Hotels in Bristol are pretty limited (The Bristol Harbor Inn) but there are also a handful of cute bed-and-breakfast spots. We suggest checking out Airbnb for more options. If you want to make this a weekend adventure, you could also try booking in Newport, RI (a 30 - 40 minute drive from Bristol).
Other hotels we’d recommend in downtown Providence: the Biltmore, Providence Hotel, the Omni, the Renaissance, and the downtown Marriott.
In the event of inclement weather, the show must go on! Everything will take place under the tent.
Suggested attire: cocktail party.
All of the evening’s activities take place on solid ground, so ladies, feel free to wear those heels (or not).
Don’t like/allergic to shellfish? Just let us know on your RSVP card and we’ll make sure there is a chicken or vegetarian option for you.
Two words: Open. Bar.
The Herreshoff Marine Museum is a maritime museum dedicated to the history of the Herreshoff Manufacturing Company, yachting, and the America's Cup. The Herreshoff Manufacturing Company (1878-1945) was most notable for producing sailing yachts, including eight America's Cup defenders, and steam-powered vessels. The museum, situated near Narragansett Bay on the grounds where the manufacturing company once stood, has a collection of over sixty boats.
